F.B.I. interviews indicate closing stage of investigation is approaching Hillary.092315Texas Insider Report WASHINGTON D.C.  Just hours after he warned former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that federal law enforcement was coming for her the Democratic front-runner called on Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) to step up and do his job. During a campaign stop at the University of Wisconsin-Madison GrassleyChuckSenateJudiciaryreferring to Grassleys role as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Clinton added He should hold a hearing and he should schedule it as soon as the Senate returns from recess.    She was referring to the Judiciary Committees confirmation process for Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland. But in an interview with Politico Grassley brushed off Clintons comments as an effort to evade talking about the news that the F.B.I. is reportedly going to begin questioning Clintons aides and eventually Clinton herself about her use of a private server as secretary of state.

With all the troubles shes getting on email and the FBIs going to question her I would imagine shed want to change the tone of her campaign Grassley said.

This is simply a blatant attempt by Secretary Clinton to politicize the Supreme Court and change the conversation after a damaging story about her in The Washington Post Grassley said.

ClintonThe Senate Judiciary Committee chairman and Iowa Republican was referring to a Monday report in The Washington Post. The paper reported that as many as 147 FBI agents are involved in the investigation of the server that Clinton kept in her basement as secretary of state. The bureaus interviews indicate the closing stage of its investigation is approaching as it seeks to piece together information and produce a recommendation on whether to issue an indictment. Democrats have been pressuring Republicans to hold confirmation hearings on Garland President Obamas appointee to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia at the same time as the FBIs investigation of Clinton is heating up. But Grassley repeated the response that he and Senate Republicans have maintained since February no hearings Supreme Court nominee hearings until there is a new president.

There has been broad consideration that when you have a lame duck president that during the last year the appointment should go over to a new president" Grassley said.

Republicans have said it should be up to the next president to appoint Scalias replacement. But as of Monday Grassley suggested Clintons chances looked bleak.
Its no wonder Secretary Clinton doesnt want to let the American people have a voice in the direction of the Supreme Court. charlesgrassley1I see a person who has just recently been badly defeated in three states for the nomination Grassley said. I see a person that the FBI is getting ready to question about her emails and about the Clinton Foundation and shes trying to change the story to something else."
