Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON DC . . . Today Rep. Ralph Hall (TX-04) voted in support of H.R. 4015 the SGR Repeal and Medicare Provider Payment Modernization Act which passed 238-181. This bill repeals the failed Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) formula used to determine Medicare payments for physicians and replaces it with a quality- value- and accountability-based solution that rewards quality care.
American seniors across the country count on the promised benefits of Medicare" said Hall. I have been a longtime supporter of this valuable program and believe it is important that we continue to uphold these promised benefits which is why I am pleased to co-sponsor the SGR Repeal and Medicare Payment Modernization Act. This bill protects Medicare from harmful cuts that would otherwise be implemented at the end of March provides a steady payment model in the future that gives physicians more certainty and ensures seniors have access to the highest quality care."
