Hammond Disputes Bill Whites Pro-Tax Transportation Scheme

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas  It is obvious that Bill White wants to import the very same anti-business anti-jobs ideas that have left California in absolute shambles.  Bill Whites transportation funding scheme would cost jobs and topple the best business climate in the nation.   While the audacity of Whites big government anti-employer anti-jobs idea is shocking it should come as no surprise that the very man who left the city he governed with a tremendous deficit is now attempting to do the same thing throughout all of Texas." So said Bill Hammond President of the statewide organizaation Texas Association of Business earlier today.

I read a recent Associated Press article in horror as former Houston Mayor Bill White made it clear that he was open to the idea of raising taxes as a method to address transportation funding."

Throughout his entire gubernatorial campaign Bill White has yet to produce one pro-business idea on how to address the challenges that Texas currently faces" said Hammond. Heretofore content to sit on the sidelines without offering real solutions Mayor Whites first attempt at addressing a serious issue should send chills down the spine of every Texan. The last thing Texas families need is a Bill White-supported tax increase."
