Harvey Hilderbran Announces Re-election Campaign

Will continue to champion the interests of rural Texas

Kerrville TX – State Representative Harvey Hilderbran filed for reelection at the Republican Party of Texas headquarters for Texas House district 53.  Representative Hilderbran is seeking his eleventh term in the Texas House.

“I am blessed with the tremendous and continued support of the wonderful citizens of my district” stated Hilderbran.  “We have enjoyed great success championing the issues important to rural Texas such as water rights healthcare and our schools.”
In the 2007 legislative session Representative Hilderbran ensured victory for Texas’ state parks and natural resources for Texas families by restoring excellence to our state’s recreation system.  He also championed legislation that eliminated an unfair tax to small business owners implemented a mental health community center crisis stabilization hospital in Kerrville serving the entire Hill Country region and filed legislation that would give local law enforcement the ability to keep illegal immigrants off the streets.

Representative Hilderbran was also named the “Legislator of the Year” in 2007 by the Texas Municipal League and he received an award from the Texas Soil and Conservation Board for his commitment to helping water conservation districts and for liability protection for board members.  Additionally Representative Hilderbran received a resolution from the Upper Guadalupe River Authority expressing appreciation for his commitment to water rights.  

First elected in 1988 Representative Hilderbran serves as Chairman of the House Culture Recreation and Tourism Committee and as a member of the House Natural Resources Committee.  He also serves as co-chairman of the legislative oversight committee for the Edwards Aquifer Authority.
