Vulnerable Democrat collects only $3050 from District
Texas Insider Report: Hopkins County Texas In a development that underscores the growing vulnerability of Democrat Mark Homer Republican State Representative nominee Erwin Cain announced earlier this week that he had raised over $114000 in campaign contributions compared to only $65000 for Mr. Homer.
On the July 15th report required by the Texas Ethics Commission Cain demonstrated significant financial support from House District 3 and across the state of Texas including contributions of almost $19000 from his opponents home county of Lamar.
While
Cain raised more than $66000 from over 350 donors within HD 3 Democrat Homer collected only $3050 from six district residents. Over 95 of Rep.

Homers funding came from outside the district mostly from special interest groups lobbyists and PACs.
Cain said This report is an incredible tribute to my many supporters in the district who are working so hard for our campaign. East Texans desperately want a representative who will fight the liberal Obama/Pelosi agenda encroaching on Texas and are making a financial sacrifice to help bring that change about.
Im very humbled that so many of my fellow East Texans are supporting our cause" said Cain.
The fundraising disparity is particularly significant given that Mr. Cains report covers the period only since February 21 while Mr. Homers report covers the entire six months beginning January 1.
This report may demonstrates at an early stage that Representative Homer faces his most significant threat ever in this election cycle.
A small businessman and attorney with a record of fighting lawsuit abuse Erwin Cain believes this is a critical time to stem the rising tide of government intrusion into all aspects of our lives.
Cain said his Campaign Focus continues to target Homers out-of-touch record on:
Taxes & government spending relief
- Protecting private property rights
- Cracking down on illegal immigration
- Voter ID Passage to preserving election integrity
- Championing Texans right to keep & bear arms; and
- Working tirelessly to promote jobs & economic development in East Texas.
