National Security Put at Risk by Corruption Mistaken Airport Access Delayed Projects
From Cong. Michael McCaul
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. A lack of internal oversight and cohesiveness among agencies within the Department of Homeland Security is wasting taxpayer money delaying essential projects contributing to corruption
and ultimately could jeopardize national security. Those findings came before the Oversight & Investigations hearing I chaired Thursday which was the latest examining how DHSs management structure affects its ability to carry out its core mission of protecting the homeland.
Unfortunately this department is a victim of its own inability to integrate the management functions of its 22 agencies or provide adequate oversight of people and projects. This has resulted in wasted taxpayer dollars and corruption among our airport and border security agents who in some cases are smuggling weapons and drugs for cartels.
Last year alone 403 DHS employees were arrested and more than 1000 investigations are ongoing. I believe it is time for a top to bottom management review because the current management team is not getting the job done.
JOBS Act
Last week I voted for and the House passed the JOBS Act. This is a victory for small businesses entrepreneurs and startups allowing primary job creators to do what they do best by easing burdensome regulations so these companies have better access to capital.
This legislation makes it easier for companies to go public and raise money and gets the governmental red tape out of the way. It is time for Democrats in the

Senate to pass this bill and help the House get more Americans back to work.
