House Speaker Boehner on Senate Immigration Reform

The House is not going to take up and vote on whatever the Senate passes.  Were going to do our own bill through regular order and itll be legislation that reflects the will of our majority and the will of the American people. For any legislation including a conference report to pass the House its going to have to be a bill that has the support of a majority of our members. Time and again this closed-door back room Conference Committee is where conservatives have been betrayed. Leadership is obviously on notice. Boehner-pelosi-reid-mcconnellThe Senates Immigration Reform Bill S.744 passed 68-32 on Thursday and includes billions of dollars in additional funding for border security and a path to citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants. 14 Republicans joined the entire Senate Democratic Caucus to support the measure. House Republican leaders have said the package is dead on arrival in their chamber. So far Speaker John Boehner is saying the right things.
