Hughes Wins Unanimous County Chair Support in District 5

Bryan Hughes has the guts to get the job done said Titus County Republican Chairman Sue Evenwel adding to Hughes strong support as Hughes announced the endorsement of all six Republican County Chairs in House District 5.   In making her endorsement Helen Heavey said Bryan Hughes has always stood for what is right. We share his conservative values that focus on family life education fiscal responsibility and freedom. Helen Heavey is the County Chair for Wood County and a longtime activist for the Republican Party. Representative Bryan Hughes said Its really humbling for me to have the support of these local Republican leaders.  These are the people who work for good government.  These are the folks who are working every day to elect conservatives up and down the ballot.  They serve us all and I am very grateful to have their endorsement. The thing I appreciate most about Bryan is his personal touch to the job.  I have known Bryan for a long time and even when he was not our state representative he helped me any time I called upon him.  He has a reputation of respect for the people he serves and they respect him. After law school Bryan was honored to be chosen by US District Judge William Steger of Tyler to serve as his Law Clerk a position he held from 1995-1997. In 2002 in his first run for office he was elected with 52 of the vote. In 2004 he was reelected by a 62 margin and in 2006 with 82. He was unopposed for reelection in 2008 and 2010. Hughes has also been selected as a Taxpayer Champion by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility Defender of the American Dream by Americans for Prosperity and a Fighter for Free Enterprise by the Texas Association of Business.
