HHSC chooses Hupp to lead Veterans Services efforts
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Former State Rep. Suzanna Gratia Hupp has been named the Texas Health & Human Services Commissions (HHSC) new associate commissioner for Veterans Services.
She will lead a multi-agency effort to strengthen services for veterans work with Texas 5 state Health & Human Services Agencies as well as community-based organizations that serve veterans.
Hupp will review programs and benefits available for veterans and recommend ways to improve and better coordinate those services.
A chiropractor
Hupp was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1996 and served six terms.
HHSC Executive Commissioner Kyle Janek said Hupp has a unique insight into veteran concerns because her former House district included parts of Killeen where many veterans now r
eside.
The mission of
Texas Health & Human Services Commission is to maintain and improve the health and human services system in Texas and to administer its programs in accordance with the highest standards of customer service and accountability for the effective use of funds.
HHSC oversees the operations of the health and human services system provides administrative oversight of Texas health and human services programs and provides direct administration of some programs.
HHSC operates with
an annual budget of $16 billion and 9300 employees.
