Congress Members Work Across Aisle to Improve VA Health Wait Times
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. The Department of Veterans Affairs has been unable to implement an electronic health record system that is both secure against cyber-attacks and is interoperable with the Department of Defense and private sector health care providers.
In addition Veterans still face lengthy and frustrating wait times to make appointments and see their doctors despite multiple attempts to modernize the VA.
To address these issues the Oversight and Government Reform IT Subcommittee Chair Will Hurd (R-TX) with special guests Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA) and Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris-Rodgers (R-WA) will host a hearing to examine the VAs implementation of cybersecurity reforms their development of an interoperable electronic database and how to best utilize private-sector off-the-shelf technology in order to benefit Veterans.
