The FBI vs. Apple: Do YOU Have a Right to Cellphone & Internet Privacy?
AUSTIN Texas (Texas Insider Report)
Youre seeing a lot of push back from the tech sector over
what the F.B.I. is actually asking Apple to do because the government is coming in and telling them
what to say that being Nope you cant do what is the right thing to do with encryption which is to
make it as strong as possible for the protection of the user says
Philip Molter Co-CTO of GoldenFrog.com.
The tech sector is very binary on this and by its nature it cannot be a compromise. So what President Obama (and
the F.B.I.) seems to be asking is for complete capitulation.
President Obama is trying to bring a
political solution to what is ultimately a
technological problem. When you talk to people who are technology experts they will tell you
you either have strong encryption or you dont have encryption. The middle path of
having weak encryption is basically saying that you dont have any real encryption at all added
Daniel Schurman (right) Policy Director for DemandProgress.org a leading national policy group addressing the FBI versus Apple issue.
