Is There Value in Alternative/Complementary Health Care?

By Michele ODonnell Holistic Health Care Center width=71Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas In Texas alone 6.5 million think so.  Texans spend approximately $2.67 billion out of pocket per year for these services.  Is there value in gaining wisdom knowledge and understanding? Can anything be of more value in pursuit of health than obtaining a sense of personal control over ones own life? Or shall we forever be consigned to living as a potential victim of our own bodies … a perpetual roll of the dice mentality. Listen to this inspiring story of one Texan who exercised her freedom to choose. Our son had just turned 2 and was diagnosed with autism. He did not play laugh speak or look anyone in the eye and had been plagued with one illness after another. He had violent meltdowns".  It was painfully obvious that we were losing him. We sought an alternative health care clinic that dealt with mind body and spirit as a whole unit. It was a tightly regimented program that gave us a specific path to follow and hope. Through their teaching we reached an important milestone when at 3 months into the program our son looked me in the eye and said love you mommy" They were his first words. He continued with this program for several years with giant gains in his development. He was able to start school with his peers where he has thrived and succeeded. He is now a teenager plays sport is a solid A B student and exudes confidence. To meet our son today you would see nothing that hints at the difficult journey he endured." This mother Johnnie Roberts is one of thousands just here in Texas which would attest to the value of alterative/complimentary health care.  Representative John V. Garza and Senator Jeff Wentworth have filed HB 1716/SB 1084 respectively. I urge you to contact your legislator and let them you support alternative/complementary health care. Encourage your State Representative and State Senator to vote YES for HB 1716 and SB 1084. Texans for Alternative Health Care mark your calendar March 23 2011 come to the capitol meet with your state legislators and show support.
