Humber 39 who is the Director of Business Development for Outreach Health Services a Texas based home health care company with over 7000 employees said that he hoped to continue the strong conservative representation to the Tarrant County house seat that has been provided by Mowery since she was first elected in May 1988.
“Anna Mowery has served this district and the State of Texas with distinction and honor” Humber said. “I hope to continue her strong record of conservative leadership and constituent services” Humber added.
Humber said that if elected to the Texas House he would focus on making health care for children elderly and disabled Texans more affordable and accessible and further reforming the Medicaid system. “We must significantly reduce our Medicaid costs or we face bankrupting our state” said Humber who previously served as an Assistant Regional Administrator for the Texas Department of Human Services for a nineteen county region where he led over 2000 state employees and managed more than twenty programs.
Humber said that creating new jobs and opportunities for economic growth in Tarrant County would also be a top priority. From 2003-2005 Humber served as a contracted Regional Director for the Tarrant County Workforce Board where he managed a staff of 215 and had oversight over nine workforce centers in Tarrant County winning the Best Large Board Award from the Texas Workforce Commission in 2004.
Humber a graduate of Samford University in Alabama has been married to Ginger for 19 years and they have a five year old daughter Jylian. They attend the McKinney Bible Church in Fort Worth. He said that he is pro-life and that as State Representative he would help lead the fight to protect the traditional values of faith family and freedom that have made Texas strong.
Humber said that he was disappointed and embarrassed by the actions of some legislators during the final days of the 80th session of Texas Legislature when a small group of House Republicans attempted to remove the conservative House Speaker from office and elect a new Speaker supported by a majority of House Democrats.
Humber said he applauded Representative Mowery’s successful efforts to thwart the coup and focus instead on completing the people’s business. Humber added “I am confident that the people who live work raise their families and pay taxes here in District 97 have the answers to resolve our state’s major challenges and that by working together we can continue to make Texas the envy of the rest of the United States. I look forward to engaging leaders from all over the state to accomplish that purpose.”
