Texas Insider Report: PLAINVIEW Texas State Representative Jim Landtroop conceded the race for HD-88 to opponent Ken King of Canadian Texas at 9:30 p.m. last Tuesday night congratulating his opponent on a hard-fought campaign while doing Texans and the Panhandle proud with
the best Election Night comments weve seen.
In the meantime Landtroop will continue his hard work on behalf of West Texans in HD85 throughout the remainder of his term.
Landtroop penned this note to his team his family & supporters:
There are few things in life as humbling as political campaigns. You strive with all your being toward victory and God brings you soldiers along the way for battle. Men and women step up and spend hundreds of hours in the blazing sun talking to complete strangers - not for money not for glory - but because they believe in you and what you stand for. It is hard to fathom that kind of dedication but it does my heart good in this day of apathy to see folks still willing to fight for this great land.
Together my family my team and I gave it our all. To use a sports analogy we left it all on the field." Spiritually I believe in a Sovereign and Holy God who promises all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose." He ordained my service for two years and I wouldnt trade it for anything.
When I got home from Austin after being apart from my family for 6 months I told my wife that if I was privileged to serve for just one term it would have been worth it if for no other reason than this: we defunded taxpayer dollars from abortion clinics. Since that date twelve Planned Parenthood offices have been closed and hundreds if not thousands of lives have been saved.
Cathy and I teach our children that sometimes in this life you get to do something really impactful. For me playing a critical role in the most pro-life session in history was it.
Over the past several years I have had the opportunity to share my love for this great Republic with the people of West Texas. I met thousands of wonderful folks from all across the Panhandle and South Plains. I fought for their interest day after day in Austin and am proud of what I accomplished.
I wish Mr. King and his family the best as they too get this amazing opportunity.
I am indebted to my family beyond what I can repay for your immense sacrifice during my call to duty. To my beautiful wife Cathy many women have done nobly but you excel them all. I

could not have done this without you and you made me a better candidate and legislator simply by your passion and devotion to the great State of Texas.
To my children - Braden David Kenneth and Lauren Grace - thank you for walking blocks and throwing candy at parades in 110 degree temperatures when your friends were swimming and enjoying their summer.
Your dad may have lost an election but in the end he won…for he is coming home."
