Texas Cornyn Elected Senate GOP Whip
Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) was elected Senate Minority Whip Wednesday by acclamation as both parties returned for the much-anticipated Lame Duck Session. Before
Senators are sent home Thursday until after Thanksgiving the Senate was on course to pass legislation allowing for more hunting & fishing on federal lands and had turned back efforts to pass a
so-called Cyber-Security Bill on the grounds it would prompt more inappropriate
federal regulations on business.
Cornyn the outgoing National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Chairman replaces retiring Sen. Jon Kyl R-Ariz. in the number two Republican spot.

Sen. Mitch McConnnell (R-KY) was re-elected Republican Leader by affirmation the 4th time he has won the job without opposition. McConnell was nominated in speeches by Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) and Marco Rubio (R-FL).
The GOP elected Cornyn while returning the rest of their leadership team despite suffering a disappointing loss of two seats last week for the second time failing to deliver on hopes to win back the Senate Majority.
Said Texas Gov. Rick Perry of Cornyns election to the #2 Minority Whip slot
Those of us whove known Sen. Cornyn throughout his career understand why his colleagues would choose him for this critical position. Over the years Sen. Cornyn has established himself as a strong conservative voice in Washington but more
importantly as an example of honor and integrity in public service.
Now he has the opportunity to bring his solid Texas values to the leadership table and work to lead our federal government away from its failed policies of debt high spending and disregard for the Constitutional limit of federal power.
This should prove to be a big win for Congress and ultimately for the American people" Perry Said.
