Joint Operation Leads to Arrest of Suspected Child Predators

AGTX-ShieldTexas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas -- The Texas Attorney Generals Office (OAG) today announced the arrest of four suspected child predators following a joint operation between the OAGs Child Exploitation Unit (CEU) and the Brenham Police Department (BPD).

I am grateful for the men and women in the Attorney Generals Child Exploitation Unit and the Brenham Police Department who worked tirelessly to bring these individuals into custody" said Attorney General Paxton. The success of this operation is testimony to the hard work and dedication of the law enforcement officers who bring predators threatening the safety of our children to justice." The OAG initiated the operation with the BPD targeting child predators who utilize the Internet to sexually solicit and then travel with the intent of committing sex crimes against minors. The following individuals were arrested for Online Solicitation of a Minor: Timmi Varela 22 of Bellville;                                                        Austin Lyman Bishop 32 of Austin; Montreyle Devon McCormick 24 of Plano; Chad Christian Clift 35 of College Station               The OAG works to protect children by taking child predators off the Internet and into jail proactively seeking out and arresting predators who commit crimes against children using technology and the Internet. The agency utilizes the latest technology to track down some of the most profoundly evil predators on the Internet. Attorney General Paxton urges all parents and teachers to realize the risks our children face online and take steps to help ensure their childrens safety.
