Keeney of Taylor Lake Village will face incumbent Republican John Davis.
“For years Republican fought to gain a majority in the Texas House and we accomplished that goal in 2002. Yet it seems the incumbents in Austin have been consumed by the same problems as congress resulting in higher taxes new taxes new spending programs exploding budget growth and a failure to stop or even slow down illegal immigration private toll roads eminent domain projects that benefit private developers local taxing authorities who continually raise property appraisals with no recourse and a hodge-podge of other laws that seemingly only benefit the special interests. Tack on substantive ethical lapses in judgment and you have a recipe for serious democrat gains in November of 2008. That is why I am seeking the GOP nomination for the Texas House in District 129.”
Keeney has a BS in Engineering from the University of Tennessee and an MA in Industrial Psychology from the University of Houston Clear Lake. Keeney’s career has been primarily in the oil chemical and energy industry where he learned his leadership and management skills.
“When you’ve negotiated with governments and corporations in 14 different countries and reach agreements that benefit all the diverse cultures involved you can negotiate among your peers in the legislature for what’s best for District 129 Clear Lake and Texas.” Keeney said.
Keeney has lived in the Clear Lake area for more than 25 years. He and his wife Lilian are members of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. They have three grown children and six grandchildren.
District 129 covers the Clear Lake area of Harris County which includes El Lago Nassau Bay Seabrook Shore Acres Taylor Lake Village and Webster in addition to parts of the cities of Friendswood Houston La Porte League City Pasadena and Pearland.
