The results of the Houston Bar Association Judicial Candidate Qualification Poll released recently shows that a vast majority of those responding believe that Justice Eva Guzman is the most qualified candidate for the Supreme Court of Texas Place 9.
She received more than eleven times the number of well qualified" votes as her primary opponent. Close to ninety percent rated Justice Guzman as qualified" or well-qualified;" more than half of those responding rated her primary opponent as not qualified."
Clearly the members of the Houston Bar see in Justice Guzman the same qualities that led both Governors Bush and Perry to appoint her to the bench and to her subsequent election three times.
The lawyers who have worked in her courtroom over the past decade have seen firsthand that she is an excellent judge and cares deeply about the rule of law" said Randy Sorrels Former President Houston Bar Association. Justice Guzmans extraordinary showing is a strong signal that those most familiar with her work want to keep her on our states highest civil court."
