Keeping Bureaucrats Out of Internet Rate Regulation

Congressman Bill Flores bill.flores011416Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. The U.S. House of Representatives has passed H.R. 2666 the No Rate Regulation of Broadband Internet Access Act. Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement regarding its passage:
Hardworking American families are tired of the government overreach coming from out-of-control Washington bureaucrats. The FCC does not have the authority to regulate broadband internet rates. Today the House took a stand to maintain innovation and keep bureaucrats out of internet rate regulation with bipartisan passage of the No Rate Regulation of Broadband Internet Access Act.  Regulating rates discourages investment by internet providers and limits consumer services. This ultimately leads to higher prices and fewer choices for American families who rely on the internet for work and school needs. The internet plays a vital role in driving Americas economy innovation and jobs and should be based on competition and a free innovative market.
Congressman Bill Flores represents the 17th District of Texas and is an entrepreneur former energy executive Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC)  and member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
