Texas Insider Report: DALLAS Texas Texas State Representative Roberto R. Alonzo today remembered like many other Americans the 47th Anniversary of the tragic death of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas. The assassination of the 35th President of the United States took place on Friday November 22 1963 at approximately 12:30 pm Central Standard Time in Dealey Plaza.
The president was riding with his wife Jacqueline in a Presidential motorcade.
Long-time advocate of the average working family who did not have a voice in government and member of the world-renowned Kennedy patriarch and political family I will always remember President Kennedy for the many exemplary and unparalleled contributions that he made as a public servant and as a giant voice of the down-trodden the disenfranchised and the poor and for protecting and defending the civil rights of all Americans regardless of where they lived who they were or the color of their skin said Rep. Alonzo.
President Kennedy may have come from a wealthy patriarch family but he always made it a point to remember those who were less

fortunate. And I will always remember his quote:
There are risks and costs to a program of action but they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction said Rep. Alonzo.
And of course the most famous Kennedy quote - Ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country still resonates to this day especially in todays hard economic times when many of us as policymakers are being asked to find more clever and creative ways to address the diverse needs of all Americans from all corners of the country continued Rep. Alonzo.
