Dont miss Jim Cardles coverage on Dewhursts announcement who is our Power Player of the Week".

While political analysts say the Lt. Governor has broad Statewide name I.D. and a record to run on that will be hard to match as for his being able to have an impact on the atmosphere in Washington D.C. … Dewhurst said theres plenty D.C. could learn from how government has been run in Texas.
For 8 years as Lt. Governor Ive been involved in either slashing spending by billions of dollars each year or cutting taxes by billions of dollars or both ... And there isnt anybody that has my record as a proven fiscal conservative. I want to run Washington more like Texas where we focus on not spending a dime more than we need to and keep our taxes as low as possible" said Dewhurst.
One topic that is sure to be a hot-button issue in the Republican Primary the ongoing legal & court battle over the recently passed Texas Sonogram Bill is something Dewhurst said he plans to fight for.        Analysts had both predicted & anticipated Dewhursts entry the Senate race where they say his statewide name recognition will be tough to match.
