During his first two terms in Congress Marchant has fought to end illegal immigration by pushing to enforce existing laws and has continually voted to strengthen our borders. Also he is one of the leading voices opposing the plans that Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats have to give amnesty to over 10 million people.
“Amnesty is not an option rewarding those who break the law does not solve the problem it just makes it bigger” stated Marchant “Congress wants cities and states to enforce seat belt laws yet they turn their backs on cities and states when they enforce current law as it relates to illegal immigration—this is wrong.”
Earlier this year Minority Leader Jon Boehner appointed Congressman Marchant to the powerful House Committee on Financial Services for Marchant this committee comes as a natural fit for his experience as a successful small businessman a State Legislator and having a history of being a fiscal conservative. He has been recognized by Americans for Tax Reform as a “Hero of the Taxpayer” and “Small Business Champion.”
Marchant also serves on both the House Committee on Education & Labor and the House Committee on Oversight & Government Reform where he is the Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Federal Workforce Postal Service & the District of Columbia
Kenny Marchant was born in Bonham TX and was raised in the North Dallas area. He is a graduate of R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton Texas and holds both a Bachelor’s and Honorary Doctorate Degree from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany Oklahoma. He and his wife Donna have raised four children in North Texas and are the very proud grandparents to two grandchildren.
