Today’s Logic Letter,

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Here’s a question to ponder in Temple, Texas.
If someone is accused of committing a crime — and she can bring a dozen or so “character” witnesses to testify on her behalf, does that say more about her? Or the witnesses?
This is what happened last night as Judy “Hillary Diane” Morales rejoined the city council. She turned in a self-aggrandizing letter and took her seat. To his credit, Mayor Danny Dunn expressed doubt that she should be returning to the council. “This has affected us all greatly,” he said. Dunn is right. Judy Morales may get off the hook through an expired statute of limitations — but that’s not decided yet and there may be continuing lapses that are not limited out by law.
My problem is this: Judy Morales has no remorse. This case will resonate for decades. Were I the County Attorney, I would throw the book at her.
Ted Nugent is a right-wing bomb thrower, to speak metaphorically. Greg Abbott knows that, and knew it when he took Nugent on campaign stops. Let me be clear: I have little respect for Barack Obama, but I would not refer to him as a “subhuman mongrel.” Obama can be fairly called a communist or a socialist, and there are facts to support those labels. But look at hat Obama (and mot Democrats including the Wendy Davis) actually do. They support the extermination of living babies in the womb. So nothing Nugent says is as bad as what Democrats do. I don’t know if that’s moral relativism on my part6 or not. But I’m finding it tough to get too upset with Nugent.
Vladimir Putin and Kiev. What a mess. Syria. What a mess. Iran. What a mess.
Excuse me if you think I’m a Neo-Con. I reject that term, but the world is a very dangerous place now that the United States is no longer respected. To quote THE SIMPSONS: “In order to preserve the peace, we must build weapons of war.” Elect me president, and I will provide you with a stimulus. It would be my policy to rebuild and modernize America’s military, leaving no doubt that we are the biggest, baddest force on earth.
Obama is not repeated or feared. And the world is going to hell. I have no desire to get into foreign entanglements, but I want the evil dictators of the world to fear that we might. The impotent Obama has destroyed what Ronald Reagan built.
