Mike Pearce Receives Endorsements of Two Generals

Army Major General Paul Vallely and Air Force Brigadier General Jim Cash desire to help marine veteran win the HD-55 race


width=65HARKER HEIGHTS TEXAS (February 22 2008) – Mike Pearce Republican candidate for State Representative District 55 announced two endorsements that demonstrate that the only veteran in the GOP race has strong support among his brothers-in-arms. Both generals insisted that Pearce’s character intellect and status as a veteran were the impetuses to their decision to throw their support behind him.

Retired Army Major General Paul Vallely said “Of the four candidates in the District 55 Republican Primary Mike Pearce is the only veteran and the only candidate who truly understands the needs of those who wore the uniform of their nation. Therefore I ask the voters of District 55 to elect this bright driven conservative and patriotic former marine to the Texas State Legislature. He concluded “Mike Pearce is a man of honor and integrity who will serve the citizens soldiers and veterans of his district well.

width=65Retired Air Force Brigadier General Jim Cash added “Mike Pearce is a fine young conservative whose life experiences will prove to be a great asset to the Texas State Legislature. As a Texan myself I recognize the need to reign in excessive spending secure our borders and preserve our nation and state for our children and grandchildren.” He concluded “There are times when an opportunity for positive change cannot be ignored. I ask the voters of District 55 to do the right thing and elect Mike Pearce.”

width=66Major General Vallely is a West Point graduate who served for 32 years in the US Army which included two tours in Vietnam. He is a graduate of the Infantry School Ranger and Airborne Schools Jumpmaster School the Command and General Staff School The Industrial College of the Armed Forces and the Army War College. General Vallely has been a military analyst on television and radio for over six years.

He is also a guest lecturer on National Security matters and the Global War against Radical Islam. He co-authored the books “Endgame – Blueprint for Victory for Winning the War on Terror” “Baghdad Ablaze” and “Warfooting”. He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Iran Policy Committee. Currently he is the Chairman of the “Stand Up America Project” and host of the radio show “Stand Up America”. His new books “Behind Gitmo Wire – Torture Abuse or the Truth” and “Blood for Our Future” will be published in early 2008.

Brigadier General Jim Cash graduated from Texas A&M in 1962 and began a career as a fighter pilot in the US Air Force. During his 35 year career he flew the F-106 F-4 F-15 and F-16. His home town is DeKalb Texas. After completing F-102 and F-106 training in 1966 he was assigned to the 456th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Castle Air Force Base California. for one year. He then transitioned to the F-4C as an aircraft commander.

In September 1967 he was assigned to the 12th Tactical Fighter Wing Cam Rahn Bay Air Base Republic of Vietnam. The General transferred to South Korea in February 1968 and was first at Kunsan Air Base then Taegu Air Base as an operational F-4 pilot. In September 1968 he was assigned to the 35th Tactical Fighter Wing at George Air Force Base California. as an F-4 instructor pilot. In June 1972 he was assigned to the U.S. Air Force Academy as air officer commanding Cadet Squadron 18.

General Cash served in many different capacities throughout his time in the Air Force including as command director North American Aerospace Defense Command combat operations staff Cheyenne Mountain Complex Colorado. The general is a command pilot with 4000 flying hours. His military awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal Legion of Merit Distinguished Flying Cross with oak leaf cluster Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters Air Force Commendation Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.. General Cash currently commits most of his time to writing political commentary and co-hosting Stand-Up America with General Paul Vallely.

In addition to earning the support of Generals Vallely and Cash Pearce also has the public backing of Republican State Representatives Ken Paxton and Jodie Laubenberg. Pearce has received glowing endorsements from Republican State Board of Education members Terri Leo Ken Mercer and Gail Lowe. He has also been endorsed by the Texas Home School Coalition Texas Eagle Forum PAC Empower Texans PAC the Young Conservatives of Texas and Peggy Venable (State Director of Americans for Prosperity).

Mike Pearce a former U.S. Marine taught in Bell County public schools for 10 years and received exemplary reviews for his innovative teaching methods from students parents and administrators. Pearce recently founded an educational company that sells a technology based curriculum to teachers in 29 states and two US territories. Mike has been married to his high school sweetheart Melanie for over 17 years and they are the proud parents of 6 wonderful children: Arianna Alexandra Evan Reganne Jillian and Laura.
