Moses: Collin County Lincoln Dinner Overwhelming Success

Our event raised over $100000 on gross table sales alone and our ticket sales were up 60 over last year. In these tough economic times it is a true testament to the strength of our party for our numbers to have increased so dramatically" Moses said.   The Collin County Republican Party (CCRP) recently held its 42nd Annual Lincoln Dinner which is an opportunity to honor volunteers and to raise funds for the operational expenses of its local headquarters.   I would like to thank the Lincoln Day Dinner committee and all of our committee chairmen. I am humbled by the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our sponsors. Their hard work made this years dinner was a resounding success" said Moses. We concentrate our efforts on this one annual fundraising dinner so that we can focus on our political activities the rest of the year" said dinner chairman Diann Jones. I am proud to announce that we have exceeded our fundraising goal by quite a margin and have raised the money to continue our work for republicans well into the future. markMaster of Ceremonies Mark Davis from WBAP News Talk 820 started off the evening with a rousing tribute to Republican Momentum" as evidenced in the recent election in Massachusetts. The evening included a VIP Reception a silent auction a live auction a seated dinner and a full evening of entertainment. Tributes for Congressman Ralph Hall & Congressman Sam ralph-m-hallJohnson were the highlight of the evening as they were honored as Living Legends."  Ross Perot made a guest appearance and special presentations were made to Congressman Hall from the sam-johnsonNational Rifle Association and to Congressman Sam Johnson from the Blue Angels. Taped messages were presented from Pastor Chuck Swindoll U.S. Senator John Cornyn Texas Governor Rick Perry and a letter was read from U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison.  CCRP County Chairman Fred Moses presented Chairman Awards" to:
  • Tim McCord for his work with the Plano Balloon Festival;
  • Chris Hill for his work in creating a new web presence for the party; and
  • Diann Jones for her leadership with fundraising efforts and for chairing this years Lincoln Day Dinner.
Long time party volunteer Wayne Tucker received the John McVeigh Award which is the life time achievement award given annual by the CCRP. Dixie Jeffers received the Gladys Harrington Award which is presented to an outstanding precinct chairman each year. Mary McClure was presented with the Dixie Clem Award which is presented each year to an outstanding young republican. I want to thank all the volunteers and sponsors that made this event so successful" said county chairman Moses.
