There are women now who are Chief Operating Officers Chief Financial Officers there are women who have founded and are CEOs of their own energy companies said Becky Motal president & Chairman of the Board of the Association of Women in Energy.
And frankly its good for the industry because they bring their ideas their expertise and thats what helps make them and their companies be successful Motal says.
But there are two things that we need to have fundamentally for life and also for having a healthy state economy: energy and water. And in this day and age you cant have one without the other.
Motal talks with Insiders Jim Cardle about the growing number of women in and the future of the Oil & Gas Industry.
There are women who have been pioneers in the oil & gas industry including the role of the traditional landman said Motal.Theres a growing number of women in the industry a growing number who are getting into non-traditional jobs and a growing number of women in all fields.There are a lot of women in this industry and to have an organization that helps women know what the issues are introduces them to the people they need to meet and network ... I thought nothing better could I do than give back some of what Ive learned in 40 years of my professional career said the new president & chair of the Association of Women in Energy.
