Immunizations are important for all children. Most importantly however early immunizations can prevent more costly diseases and illnesses later in their lives. You want to do what is best for your children. You know about the importance of car seats baby gates and other ways to keep them safe. But did you know that one of the best ways to protect your children is to make sure they have all of their vaccinations? said Rep. Alonzo.
Immunizations can save a childs life. They are save and effective. And in todays medical advances if immunized early children can be protected from diseases more than ever before. In addition to saving families time and money later immunizations will also protect our future generations. I urge all parents to take seriously the importance of early childhood immunizations continued Rep. Alonzo.
Vaccines are among the most successful and cost-effective public health tools available for preventing disease and death. They not only help protect vaccinated individuals but also help protect entire communities by preventing and reducing the spread of infectious diseases as well as reduce the costs associated with missed time from work doctor visits and hospitalizations. Infants are particularly vulnerable to infectious diseases; that is why it is critical to protect them through immunization. Each day nearly 12000 babies are born in the United States who will need to be immunized against 14 vaccine-preventable diseases before age two.
Immunizations are one of the most important ways parents can protect their children against serious diseases. Rep. Alonzo encourages parents to talk to their healthcare provider to ensure that their infant is up-to-date on immunizations. Vaccine-preventable diseases still circulate in the United States and around the world so continued vaccination is necessary to protect everyone from potential outbreaks.
