A new poll by a nonpartisan survey group in Austin shows Republican Todd Hunter ahead in the race for House District 32 against incumbent Democrat Juan Garcia.
Results from Texas Poll Watch released Tuesday show Hunter with 46.38 percent of those polled compared to 38.06 percent for Garcia in the race for the District 32 seat. Hunter leads Garcia in three of the four counties in the district according to the poll.
“Todd’s message of experience and conservative leadership continues to connect with the people of District 32” said Hunter campaign consultant Steve Ray. “His values are shared by the hard working families throughout the Coastal Bend and they are responding to his call for the right kind of change in Austin.”
Complete results of the poll can be viewed on txpollwatch.com. Ray said the poll was not commissioned by the campaign.
“The people of District 32 want a state representative who is experienced and will fight for the district” Ray said. “They also want someone who is fiscally responsible and will represent their conservative values at the state capitol.”
Hunter a former four-term state legislator left public office in 1997 to help raise his young children. He promised to return to public service when they were older. He is the Republican nominee for the District 32 state representative seat.
