Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas This week the I voted for and the Texas House passed HB 2403. It clarifies state law regarding nexus issues. HB 2403 is necessary to clarify whether or not Amazon a highly respected corporate citizen and phenomenal commercial enterprise and other similar companies should collect and remit sales & use taxes to the state of Texas as required by Tax Code Sec. 151.
Let me be clear about two things: First HB 2403 is not a tax increase and second HB 2403 would generate an estimated $16000000 through the biennium ending August 31 2013. This bill clears up the issue about collection of a tax that is already owed by the purchaser of the good.
If HB 2403 passes companies such as Amazon and thousands of other retailers would be required to collect and remit the sales tax owed by the purchaser. During these very difficult times finding additional revenues without increasing taxes or cutting more spending make a lot of sense to me. I hope you will agree.

If accountant and freshman Republican Torres gets his way every state agency will be part of Lean Six Sigma. Wait wasnt that a G.I. Joe series? Oh no that was Sigma 6. Lean Six Sigma is a business model with a revolutionary underlying concept: If you are a manufacturer then making a poor-quality product is a bad idea.
Lean Six Sigma gives exponents different colored belts turning middle management seeking savings into martial artists. Since being pioneered by Motorola executives in the 1980s to salvage the firms collapsing reputation its baseline product testing success rate of 99.99966 has been adopted by various branches of the American military.
The quality control bill was passed out of the House Government Efficiency and Reform Committee last week. Torres already has the public backing of Mike George founder of the deficit-busting Strong America Now group and creator of Lean Six Sigma. Read the complete article by clicking this link:
