U.S. House Candidate lauded by Americans for Prosperity-Texas
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas The one thing elected officials should all be able to agree on is that
global warming shouldnt be used as an excuse to hike taxes on citizens and businesses said Peggy Venable State Director of the Texas chapter of the free market grassroots group Americans for Prosperity (AFP-TX). Venable & the organization applauded U.S. House candidate and previous Highland Village Mayor Dianne Costa (new 25th District) for signing the groups No Climate Tax Pledge.
Costa joins more than 550 bipartisan lawmakers and candidates on the federal state and local levels pledging to oppose any legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.
We encourage all of Texass elected officials and candidates for elected office to sign the pledge
Venable said.
Said Costa of her signing
I am not a proponent of raising taxes to generate revenue from government programs that basically put an undue burden on the backs of citizens and businesses. Whatever happened to living within our means?
What makes us think that more revenue wont just give big government more of our hard earned money to spend frivolously ... rather than making the hard choices of cutting back on the funds already being spent?
Costa is a candidate for the newly redrawn 25th Congressional District and former mayor of Highland Village TX. The 25th Congressional District stretched from the southern part of Tarrant County in the north to part of Hays County in the South; is approximately 200 miles top to bottom and c

ontains all or part of 13 counties.
As an elected official
Costa says her body of work speaks for itself.
My back to the basics approach is a proven model that can be applied to many situations including this one. While I see the very real need for green initiatives we must not commingle our priorities said Costa.
