After talking to State Representative Ken Paxton directly late yesterday afternoon & having earlier in the day posted a Tweet referring to only potentially-available options in the north DFW Metroplex our apologies have been extended to he & Sen. I have made no announcement that I will run for the State Senate. Similar to Senator Florence Shapiro having established an exploratory committee 
to run for the U.S. Senate seat she expects Senator Hutchison to vacate I am exploring possibilities concerning the State Senate seat Senator Shapiro may vacate to run for U.S. Senate. Given the likelihood that a statewide campaign will create a vacancy in Senate District 8 many people have encouraged me to be a candidate for the Texas Senate. I am humbled and encouraged by the response I have received over the past several months.
