I spoke with Steve (Munisteri) on Sunday and again told him that I am 100 committed to supporting him and doing anything I can do help him & the Republican 
Party of Texas be successful so we can rebuild our team and win big in November."

In a stirring speech at the Republican state convention 10 days ago Tom Mechler who was running for RPT Chairman ripped off his Mechler sticker and put a Steve Munisteri sticker on in its place endorsing Munisteri as the future leader of the Party. Munisteri won the race beating out incumbent Cathie Adams. Melinda Fredricks who was running with Mechler won Vice-Chairman and will be working with Munisteri. Im very exciting about Steve and Melinda" Tom said They both bring so much to the table. The Party is going in the right direction. Congratulations to both of them." Mechler and Munisteri have been in constant contact since the election discussing plans for the revitalization of the Party. They have found common ground and are eager to work together. Shortly after the election Munisteri asked Mechler to jump in roll up his sleeves and Mechler got right to work.
The two challengers of incumbent Cathie Adams both campaigned on plans for fiscal reform and Party unity and they are now working together in a sincere effort to bring the Party together.
Mechler is also urging his supporters to support Munisteri: Ive been in contact with all my staff and my supporters and I let everyone know how important it is that we all throw our effort behind Steve. Im excited about making this Party great again."
Mechler who campaigned as a servant-leader" said he hasnt lost anything but got exactly what he wantedthe RPT will now be one unified conservative Party for all of Texas.
