Landtroop is Vice-Chairmen Rural Caucus and a serving member of the Republican Policy Caucus Committee. Most recently he was appointed to represent Texas on the International Energy Council.

Last year I was proud to help pass a bill allowing employees to keep a concealed handgun in their locked vehicle. When a fellow legislator drafted a bill to expand the concealed carry law for elected officials only I worked closely with the NRA and TSRA to draft several amendments that would have expanded the same privileges to others as well. The 2
nd amendment doesnt differentiate between private citizens and public officials and neither should we Landtroop said.
Representative Jim Landtroop was named the fourth most conservative member of the Texas House of Representatives by the James A. Baker Institute and served on both the Agriculture and Livestock Committee and the Defense and Veterans Affairs Committee.
