NRCC To Pete Gallego: What’s Wrong With A Little Fairness?

Gallego Supports ObamaCare Relief For Congress, Big Business, But Not For You

pete-gallegoWASHINGTON – If there was ever a vote that simply showed how out-of-touch Pete Gallego’s priorities were, it’s this.

Just minutes ago, Gallego voted against a bill that would not only keep the government open, but strip ObamaCare’s congressional exemption and give the same delay to middle-class families that the Obama administration gave to big business. He should be ashamed of his vote. Americans shouldn’t suffer under ObamaCare while big business and Congress get special deals and exemptions. The time for fairness has come.

“Pete Gallego’s disgraceful vote proves just how out of touch he truly is,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “Instead of fighting for families, he voted to protect ObamaCare’s exemptions for Congress and unfair delay for big business.”

The House Just Voted To Fund The Government, Delay ObamaCare’s Individual Mandate, And Cancel Insurance Subsidies For Members Of Congress And Staff. (HJ Res 59, Roll Call 504, 9/30/13)

The Bill Would Delay The Individual Mandate And Cancel Insurance Subsidies For Members Of Congress And Staff. “With just hours to go until the government shuts down, House Republicans will try to pass a bill that would delay the mandate that individuals buy health insurance and would cancel health-insurance subsidies for members of Congress and staff, the president and administration appointees, according to multiple sources.” (Jake Sherman and John Bresnahan, “Government Shutdown: House GOP To Delay Individual Mandate,” Politico, 9/30/13)
