Child support service center located at 217 W. Main is open for business
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas (GRAND PRAIRIE) The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has a new location in Grand Prairie to assist parents with their child support cases. Located at 217 W. Main Suite 110 the child support service center opened on June 8.
Were constantly working to make it easier for families to access our services no matter where they live Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said. This new location means our staff will be much more accessible to parents and makes it possible for more children in and around Grand Prairie to get the court-ordered financial and medical support they need.
The Grand Prairie service center which is staffed with five child support officers is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to assist customers. The service center provides a convenient location for negotiating agreed court orders picking up or dropping off documents and making walk-in inquiries.
Prior to opening the Grand Prairie site local customers had to travel to the Dallas Southwest child support office. The new Grand Prairie location was selected because of its proximity to child support customers.
Services offered by the OAGs Child Support Division include locating absent parents; establishing paternity for children born to unmarried parents; establishing enforcing and modifying child and medical support orders; and collecting and distributing child support payments.
The Child Support Division serves 1.5 million families throughout Texas and collected $3.8 billion in child support for the state fiscal year that ended Aug. 31. Parents in the Dallas-Fort Worth area paid $657 million of the $3.8 billion collected.

The Attorney Generals Child Support Division is the most successful and cost-effective program in the nation. The division currently administers 1.5 million child support cases serving 1.7 million children. The division collects $11.34 for every $1 spent to operate the program and collected $3.7 billion in child support in Federal FY 2014.
