ObamaCare: Congress Off by 817?

ObamaCare:  A Spending Nightmare width=186By Patrick Boykin & Hunter Hayes Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas During the healthcare reform debate one of the Democrat talking points was that ObamaCare would reduce the deficit by many-many billions over the next ten years. Sounds great right? Unfortunately to believe this notion you have to disregard a long history of failed spending estimates by Congress. Especially when it comes to entitlement spending.   Especially since the Democrats and the Obama administration tacked on $1.4 trillion to this past years deficit. For example when Medicare was passed Congress projected the cost for FY 1990 to be $12 billion. Reality - actual cost in 1990 was $110 billion. Congress was off by 817.

The real tragedy is that every time they make a mistake of this caliber we the taxpayer are the ones left with the bill.

Revised cost estimates for ObamaCare are now in the area of $2.5 trillion. However based on the history weve had with Medicare costs and other entitlement programs it is entirely plausible to see actual spending associated with ObamaCare over 800 greater than initial estimates. So for the sake of simplicity lets take the cost estimate of $2.5 trillion and multiply it by 817 just to get an idea of what the actual cost of ObamaCare could look like.

The image shows potential cost over a ten-year span based on historical spending trends. The comparison speaks for itself ... We have a $14 trillion deficit as result of continued failed attempts by Congress to predict and control spending. ObamaCare will bankrupt America just like nationalized healthcare has in other countries. width=181ObamaCare must be repealed.
