ObamaCare Supporters Organize Across Texas

Hold Press Conferences Urging Congress Not to Repeal the Affordable Care Act width=79Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Democrat elected officials & volunter supporters of the Affordable Care Act & its newly enacted provisions which they claim will control costs & protect consumers today joined with Organizing for AmericaTexas (OFA-TX) to fight Congressional Republicans effort to repeal & defund the health care bill.   OFAs network of volunteers and staff is actively working in all 50 states to promote the Presidents agenda for improving the country. As the newest provisions of the Affordable Care Act go into effect this month OFA-TX State Director Luke Hayes released the following statement after todays events:
As volunteers from across Texas showed us today with their personal stories the Affordable Care Act is impacting the lives of millions Americans and giving them the peace of mind that comes with affordable and high quality health insurance.
Republican attempts to repeal and defund the Affordable Care Act shows just how closely they stand with health insurance companies and their high width=159priced lobbyists. If the Republicans had their way and repealed health insurance reform it would increase the cost to the consumers and explode the deficit by trillions of dollars. It would also decrease Americans choices for health care and reduce the quality of care they received" said Hayes. State Representative Garnet Coleman of Houston TX added the following:
Its telling that just weeks after taking office Republicans in Congress have made it a priority to change current law to take away Americans healthcare rights and allow insurance companies to drop someone from coverage if they develop a catastrophic illness like cancer. The Republican repeal would add billions to our national deficit and would have very real and drastic consequences on Texas families."
State Representative Rafael Anchia of Dallas TX added the following:
Affordable health care is not a privilege it should be a right shared by all Americans. Lets not go back on the" progress weve made toward building an America in which all our citizens have access to world-class health care."
/New provisions that took effect on January 1 include providing discounts on prescription drugs and free preventive care for seniors reducing waste in insurance companies and streamlining payment processes for all consumers. Although the internet link to the groups reads http://www.barackobama.com/ Organizing for America (OFA) maintains it is a grassroots project of the Democratic National Committee. Since 2009 OFA supporters have played a key role in helping strengthen Americas middle class by creating jobs passing health insurance reform building a clean energy economy improving education and reining in the excesses of Wall Street.
