Olson Named Conferee on Key Energy Bill

This bill represents a unique opportunity to strike a pro-American balance to guide us in the years ahead. pete.olson1Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON DC - Rep. Pete Olson Vice Chair of the Energy and Power Subcommittee issued the following statement in response to being named a member of a bipartisan conference committee charged with producing final legislation to modernize our energy laws and strengthen our economy:
I thank Speaker Paul Ryan and Chairman Fred Upton for appointing me as a conferee. Houston is the global leader on energy production and its an honor to bring our voice to this process. We have not passed a broad energy bill in Congress in almost a decade and the energy world has changed dramatically in that time. American innovation has turned this country into the number one oil and gas producer in the world and states like Texas are leading the charge on emerging energy technologies. Our policies and infrastructure have not always kept pace.  At the same time we face unique challenges on the regulatory front at home and our allies look to us for energy leadership abroad. This bill represents a unique opportunity to strike a pro-American balance to guide us in the years ahead. I look forward to working with my colleagues to get the job done."
