Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. The final trip of such a magnificent vehicle like the space shuttle is a bittersweet moment for NASA and America said Cong. Pete Olson (R-Sugar Land) today following the successful launch of the Atlantis flight STS-135 to the International Space Station. Congratulations to Commander Christopher Ferguson and the entire STS-135 crew and launch and support crew for a successful launch Olson said.
A half century ago it took the commitment of a determined President and a visionary group with the talent and the will to show America just one facet of its greatness. Their vision challenged us to support that effort and NASA and America fulfilled that promise.
As the final shuttle flight concludes our nation is again challenged to support a

new mission. This is a historic opportunity to support the next generation of American exceptionalism that will ensure our global competitiveness and give science and exploration the opportunity to drive our economy said Olson.
I am committed to meet that challenge and ensure that Congress steps up to this challenge as well.
In NASA we have the best and brightest in the world on our side and I know together we can achieve even bigger and better things that will maintain our position as global leader Olson said.
