One U.S.-Mexico Border Town Had More Casualties Last Year Than All Afghanistan

width=141Ciudad Juarez Mexico had more civilian casualties in its drug war last year than Afghanistan had in its entire country. Just across the Rio Grande River from El Paso Texas 3111 civilians were murdered in 2010.  To compare in all of the territory of Afghanistan where U.S. forces are at war with Taliban insurgents there were 2421 civilians killed the majority of them by anti-government forces including the Taliban. Thats one out of every 427 civilian inhabitants killed in Juarez compared to one out of every 12029 killed in Afghanistan. And the U.S.-Mexico Border is just across the river!
