
Earlier this month President Barack Obama and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner unveiled components of the Administrations budget plan relating to U.S. international tax reform. These components relate to certain reforms to the deferral of foreign earnings and the foreign tax credit rules. These proposals directly impact U.S. companies and their ability to compete in the global marketplace.
As a member of the Ways & Means Committee Congressman Brady will provide insight into these recently proposed federal tax changes as well as their effects to our region.
The Ways and Means Committee is considered by many to be the most powerful committee in Congress with jurisdiction over 2/3 of the federal budget including taxes Social Security Medicare international trade and welfare. Congressman Brady also serves on the Social Security and Trade subcommittees.
