Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN TX Houston TX Tomorrow night Congressman Gene Green will be hosting his bi-annual educational workshop for high school students and their parents on how to plan and pay for college. The event will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Cesar Chavez High School in Southeast Houston.
A $500 scholarship will be raffled away by the Sallie Mae Foundation to one high school junior or senior in attendance.
Rep. Green stated Higher education is one of the greatest investments that a student can make in their future. Its important to let our students know that college can be affordable no matter what your economic circumstance is and the benefits from having a degree are well worth the time and money."
Representatives from local colleges and the U.S. military academies will also be on site to speak with students and answer any questions.
Students and parents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. Details on the event which is held twice a year at a high school in the 29th Congressional District are listed below:
