Permanent Tax Relief for Small Businesses is a Conservative Priority

Tan Parker (R-Flower Mound) on Governor Rick Perrys call to make small business tax cut permanent width=71Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Conservatives in the Texas Legislature are proud to stand with Governor Rick Perry as he calls for permanently extending small business tax cuts that we enacted in 2009.  Small businesses are the foundation of our economic strength in Texas and Governor Perry is right to call for setting their tax relief in stone.  Texas has a significant competitive advantage for job growth and attracting businesses to our state and we must be vigilant to keep Texas on the right path. Making small business tax relief permanent will allow those businesses to invest their capital in jobs and other activities that are necessary to grow our state economy.  Letting temporary tax relief expire would be an unacceptable tax increase on small businesses that would be devastating for business owners workers and their families.  I thank Governor Perry for being such a consistent and principled advocate for a strong Texas economy.  I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Legislature to win permanent business tax relief for small businesses. State Representative Tan Parker (R-Flower Mound) is the co-chairman of the Economic Development & Workforce Task Force convened by the Texas Conservative Coalition Research Institute (TCCRI).  A permanent small business exemption to the margins tax is a key recommendation of the Economic and Workforce Development Task Force hosted by TCCRI.  The final report of the Task Force Maintaining Texas Competitive Advantage is online at txccri.org.
