Perry Endorses Dewhurst & Cruz Compares Himself to Lincoln

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas -- Governor Rick Perry announced in an interview yesterday that he is supporting David Dewhurst for U.S. Senate. In the interview which you can watch below in todays daily feature Governor Perry said Dewhurst has been a loyal supporter" over the last nine years and that in turn he is a loyal supporter of Davids in his bid to be the next U.S. Senator from Texas. Together Governor Perry and David have helped make Texas economy the strongest in the nation by cutting spending by billions and balancing every budget without raising taxes. Today David will be speaking at the Texas Credit Union League annual meeting in Galveston and later this evening he will give a speech at the Harris County GOP dinner in Houston. Responding to the latest TV ad from Dewhurst for Texas highlighting Ted Cruzs representation of a Chinese tire conglomerate against an American businessman the Cruz campaign chose to explain the matter by comparing Cruz to John Adams and Abraham Lincoln saying

This is what lawyers dothey represent clients in the same great tradition of our nations history like John Adams Abraham Lincoln and many others."

Dewhurst Advisor Dave Carney released a statement in response saying in part:

Looks like Mount Rushmore will have to wait. Shameless trial lawyer Ted Cruz has finally broken the Hubris Meter. Today we find Ted Cruz the erstwhile bureaucratic staffer comparing himself to patriots like John Adams and Abraham Lincoln. Ted Cruz believes his lucrative work against an American businessman on behalf of a Chinese conglomerate found liable for Violation of Virginia Business Conspiracy Statute Common Law Civil Conspiracy Tortious Interference with Business Relationships Misappropriation of Trade Secrets and Copyright Infringement places him on the level of a Founding Father and the Great Emancipator. His hubris and excessive self-regard is beyond the pale and shows how out of touch he is with Texas conservatives and how carelessly indulgent he is with exaggerating his own anemic record of accomplishment.
