Perry Names Duree Presiding Officer Of Texas State Board of Public Accountancy

width=59AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry named David Duree of Odessa as presiding officer of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy for a term to expire at the pleasure of the governor. He also appointed Stephen Pena of Georgetown to the board which regulates the practice of public accountants and administers the certified public accountant exam in Texas.
 
Duree is a certified public accountant and partner in Elms Faris and Co. L.L.P. He is a board member of the Ector County ISD Education Foundation and United Way of Odessa and member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and its Permian Basin chapter. Duree received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

 Pena is a certified public accountant and partner with Pena Swayze and Co. LLP. He is a board member of the Seton Hospital Williamson County Foundation and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Pena received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He replaces J. Coalter Baker of Austin for a term to expire Jan. 31 2013.
