Promotes Cesinger to Press Secretary -- Frazier & Nashed Deputy Press Secretaries
Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Gov. Rick Perry earlier today named Mark Miner Communications Director Allison Castle Special Assistant for Communications and Katherine Cesinger Press Secretary effective immediately. The governor also named Catherine Frazier & Lucy Nashed Deputy Press Secretaries.
Marks dynamic communications experience and expertise will help advance a strong agenda that will keep Texas moving in a positive direction as we face various challenges in the upcoming session" Perry said.
I will continue to depend on Allisons sound advice and leadership as a trusted advisor. Katherines strong experience and background in media relations makes her a great fit as my lead spokesperson and she has my complete confidence" said Perry.
Miner previously served as communications director for Gov. Perrys successful re-election campaign and prior to that served as his communications director in the State Capitol. He has also served as

communications director for Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore the Republican National Committee and the Bill Simon for Governor Campaign in California. Miner graduated from Michigan State University in 1987 with a bachelors degree in communications. He lives in Cedar Park with his wife Robin and their two children Sydney and Zachary.
Castle has served as Gov. Perrys press secretary since September 2008. She has more than 11 years communications experience in both the public and private sectors previously serving as deputy press secretary for Gov. Perry.

Castle has also served as a senior associate at ROSS Communications a public affairs firm. She received a bachelors degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin. Castle lives in Austin with her husband Colby Eckols and new twin daughters Addie and Mae.
Cesinger has worked in the Governors Office for more than six years three of which she has served as deputy press secretary for Gov. Perry. She also previously served as communications director for the Governors

Competitiveness Council and has worked in the governors budget planning and policy division as well as the offices legislative division. Prior to working in the Texas Governors Office Cesinger worked for the Louisiana House of Representatives. She received a bachelors degree in political science from Louisiana State University.
Beginning in fall 2009 Frazier served as deputy press secretary at Texans for Rick Perry and then as deputy communications director during the general election campaign. Prior to that she served as a scheduler press assistant and then senior writer in the Governors Office. Frazier received bachelors degrees in government and public relations from the University of Texas at Austin. She lives in Austin with her husband Stuart.
Nashed has served as a spokeswoman in the Governors Office in her capacity as media relations specialist since January 2010. She previously served as press assistant where she was responsible for writing and editing press materials. Nashed received a bachelors degree in public relations from the University of Texas at Austin.
