Pete Sessions Statement on April Jobs Report

pete-sessions2Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32) Chairman of the House Rules Committee and a Member of House Republican Leadership today released the following statement regarding the April unemployment report. While todays jobs report is good news for those who were able to find work there is more that can be done to give the American people the robust growth that they deserve. Earlier this week it was reported that our GDP grew at a sluggish rate of 0.1 in the first quarter of the year and todays report indicated that our labor force participation rate hit historical lows. House Republicans have passed dozens of pro-growth bills that would ease regulatory burdens promote energy independence and reenergize the free enterprise system. Just this week several of my colleagues and I spoke on the House floor about how a free trade agenda can jumpstart our economy by creating American jobs and increasing the purchasing power of families. In the coming weeks and months I will continue to fight for common-sense solutions that create opportunity and help North Texas families and businesses."
