Pete Sessions Statement on July Jobs Report

pete-sessions2Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today released the following statement regarding the latest unemployment report:

“Although today’s jobs report is good news for those who recently found work, there are still far too many Americans looking for a job or seeking full-time employment. A deeper dive into the details reveals that only 63.4% of Americans are working and that 8.2 million people want a full-time job but can only find part-time work.  Additionally, there are still one million Americans not even looking for work because they are discouraged by the job market.

“While President Obama has spent the last two weeks giving speeches, I was pleased to support a series of bills – like the REINS Act and the Energy Consumers Relief Act – to get government out of the way and put an end to job-destroying regulations. House Republicans understand that the pathway to real economic recovery involves reducing red tape and empowering small businesses, not more tax and spend policies from Washington.”
