Pro-Aborts Sue to Block HB2

wendy-davis2Thursday, October 3rd, Senator Wendy Davis, whose fame stems from her filibuster of a ban on abortions after 5 months, is expected to declare her candidacy for Governor in Haltom City (Tarrant Co).  The most pro-abortion candidate for Governor in Texas history will undoubtedly be flanked by abortion advocates for her launch.

Planned Parenthood, the ACLU and the Center for Reproductive Rights have sued to block two components of HB 2:  the requirement that abortion docs have hospital admitting privileges and the requirement they follow FDA protocols in administering medical abortions.

The Hospital Admitting Privilege requirement is a key safety reform providing peer review, continuity of care in emergency situations, higher levels of continuing education and is Standard of Care for surgeons. This is the silver bullet aimed at bottom feeders preying on women inside the abortion clinics.

Having admitted that the admitting privileges are the biggest hurdle, abortion providers concede that a third of their doctors don’t have admitting privileges and may not be able to get them. Apparently, no abortion doctor west of I35 has admitting privileges!

From the beginning, pro-aborts have talked of filing two lawsuits, and we expect the second one next September when the requirement to upgrade to the level of other outpatient procedures goes in effect.

Surprisingly, abortion groups chose not to fight the ban on abortions after 5 months, citing challenges already underway in better venues.  Just as likely:  abortion bosses feared a prolonged debate over late-term abortion would hurt their filibuster darling, Senator Wendy Davis, in her run for Governor of Texas!
