Pro-Lifers voting in the Republican Primary will have an historic opportunity to vote for LIFE an issue that has been traditionally decided by the courts rather than the voters.
The Republican Party of Texas has added five propositions to the ballot which are non-binding but serve as an issue barometer of sorts for Republican House and Senate members of the Texas Legislature. #5 on the ballot is the Sonogram measure which calls for a mandate for abortion providers to perform and offer sonograms to women seeking abortion.
Sonograms have proven to be invaluable tools in pregnancy help centers with estimates of 60 and higher of women choosing life after seeing their babys sonogram image. Pro-life advocates are hoping for a strong showing of support to give the measure an edge in the next legislative session which begins next January and is expected to be dominated by redistricting and budget deficits.
There are no propositions on the ballot in the Democratic Primary.
